This discussion covers module outcome 2. This module has introduced you to the concept of "glocalization," which describes the process by which a particular society adapts its own viewpoint toward a global commodity or practice (globally popular sports and all of the fanfare that surround them, of course, are great examples of such commodities and practices). As the module notes discuss, the idea of glocalization runs counter to the idea that globalization homogenizes culture, and irreparably demeans or diminishes local traditions and beliefs. The below discussion will ask you to expand upon the concept of glocalization and analyze what you think makes the process possible.
