1. Member states and others including civil society through the United Nations developed and approved the Sustainable Development Goals to guide planning for the future. What would you say are the three or four most important features of the SDGs? How should Canada implement them at the national level? At the community level?
2. Trade (FTAs) and investment agreements (BITs) and the bodies which implement them have greater and greater influence on how our economies and societies are shaped and the role of and power of corporations. What to you consider to be the most important impacts of these agreements? Who is empowered and who is weakened by them?
3. Human migration (including refugee movements) is exploding. How should Canadians and their governments prepare to respond in the short and long term? What principles and international standards/agreements should guide policy?
4. Civil society organizations (CSOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have played increasing roles in national and international affairs since, for example, the anti-slavery movements of the late 18th and 19th centuries.
