Based primarily on Chapter 10 in Revolutionary Mothers and these two Voices of Freedom documents -- 40 (Benjamin Rush) and 48 (Murray) -- was the American Revolutionary period and its aftermath more of a positive or negative step for women? In addition to Chapter 10 of Revolutionary Mothers, use at least one example from Chapters 2-9 of Berkin's book. Explain your analysis with specific details from all of these readings.  No other sources are to be used other than Berkin's book and the VOF documents.

2. Essay should contain three parts.

Introduction: This is the first paragraph where you give a very short overview (several sentences) of your essay and possibly ask some questions you will address.

Body: These are the paragraphs in the middle of the essay and where you develop your analysis. For the short essay it should be two.

Conclusion: At the end of the essay, you briefly sum up your analysis.
