Are men more aggressive than women? Discuss and critically evaluate the evidence to 

support your argument. Consider the 

relevant evolutionary theory, role of biology/genetics 

and role of the environment in your essay (• Sex differences (or, gender differences)

• Aggression (eg, homicide, abuse, bullying, verbal aggression, physical 

aggression

• Evolutionary theory

• Biological/genetic factors

• Environmental factors).

Critically evaluate the various theories of human 

nature using experimental/empirical evidence to support your statements.

(The various theories and relevant topic that need to be included in the essay will be in the text book chapters 

attached).

It's important to focus on one form of aggression ie. intimate partner 

violence, infanticide, bullying, homicide etc. rather than general aggression.
