Hi, Please read the file and answer the questions
The article I chose was, 'Digital Marketing Strategies that Millennials Find Appealing,
Motivating, or Just Annoying.' I chose this article because it explains the various
marketing strategies that are used in digital media and what types of strategies
Millennials typically prefer. Due to their profound usage of digital media, digital marketing
is an effective manner for communicating with Millennials. Furthermore, the article
examines the types of digital marketing strategies that are effective in influencing one's
behavior. During COVID-19, the digital media usage was increased significantly by
Millennials, as they had more time on their hands to use social media and see the
marketing ads. I have seen an increase of ads on my Facebook page year within the
past year that are related to products that I have personally purchased or items that I
have searched for on the web. According to the article: " A survey of 571 Millennials
indicated a preference for online coupons and side-panel ads; Millennials do not like pop-
up advertising. Graphics are highly effective in grabbing their attention. Millennials will
repeatedly visit a website that has competitive prices and good shipping rates." I
personally have noticed that I have seen a decrease in my Facebook usage, as I find the
ads that are seen on my page more of a nuisance than beneficial to me. Millennials are
eager to share their 'expertise' and opinions with other consumers so companies typically
target these type of consumers. They are willing to discuss openly their views of
products online without fear of being ridiculed or judged. According to the article: " If
given an incentive, such as a discount or reward, Millennials will write an online product
review." Millennial's also tend to seek for approval from others known as 'Word of Mouth'
(WOM). They want to ensure that what they are purchasing is something that many
other millennials use and approve of. As stated in the article: " Millennials often look to
peers to determine the merit of a website or a product. A study of over 7,000 Internet
users in France revealed that online peer reviews of video games positively influence
consumer’s purchasing decisions. Word of mouth (WOM) is seen as more credible than
advertising as it is perceived as having passed through the evaluation of “people like
me”. There is growth and value in using digital marketing aimed at Millennials, however
the focus should be on all consumers.
