What lessons did you learn about race growing up? What would you say the three most important influences (e.g., your family, schooling, the media) on your racial beliefs, that is, your beliefs about who belongs to which groups and what it means to be one race (or ethnicity) or another? What stereotypes about your race or ethnicity do you identify in American society? 

Choose a racial or ethnic group different than your own. What stereotypes do you think dominate in the society about this group?  What ideas about this group did you learn as a child? Where? How have your ideas about this group changed over time?
