 Type your essay in Microsoft Word

 Use 12 pt Times New Roman font

 1” margins on all sides (default setting)

 Indent paragraphs .5” (default setting)

 Double-space essay

o This also applies between each paragraph. To eliminate gaps in the later versions

of Word, go to Page Layout and set Spacing to 0 and 0

 Include page numbers in the upper right corner

 Utilize the “Word Count” feature in Microsoft Word to ensure you have the required

number of words in you
